wandering the course of the body in its heat
and tempo, my sentinels call to each other in
the blood-red dark, finding prey and killing it
in a host of loyalty to my survival, that’s the clue
rotating around the white stalky flowers of evil
is their encampment and their season of action
now in the beginning phase, under acid direction
from long ago tactics of exploration and change
which came hard enough yet left you standing then
and now with a gratitude borne of non passive acts
which can only free and further the action inside to
become the visible unity and joy of the species at all
