crisis encourages the mysterious powers within
into action in defense of the being at large outside
enabling something to occur releasing ancient tones
into the hearing path making new what was not before

each bird passing has never passed before or since nor
will again yet sustains the pattern of the sky’s limits
inside doubt the heart beats its sustaining winds through
out the body politic inside your very flesh and sternum

located as it were inside the disease itself flaunting the
healing signs where they lead the forces forward toward
life itself raining warm water onto the parched land from
which you were drawn in the first place in the second place
